I am so excited about the opportunity to share some of my life experiences and discoveries I have made along the way. My hope for this blog is to give you a unique glimpse at an unplanned, unconventional life I have created. A life that I absolutely love and live out loud and unapologetically. I could have never imagined that I would have so much to share, or that I would have the courage to put it all in writing. it is my hope that my humble writings and experiences will inspire you, ignite your curiosity, and help you along your journey of discovery.

As I prepared my youngest daughter to move across the world, to begin her freshman year in college the idea came to me. I started to look for a book, a blog, a how to Manuel to guide me through this next stage, THE EMPTY NESTER. Well you guessed it, I didn’t really find anything that sparked my interest or fit what I had in mind. I wanted something that would help me do some soul searching, something that would help me make meaning of “all this” and then it hit me , , ,why don’t I write about my experiences. My life in Japan, my new chapter, my search for meaning and purpose, and of course my personal reflections and anecdotals.

And that my friends, was how the idea was born. I started jotting down ideas, pulling books out, looking around my house, and I thought, you know what this might be exciting. Even if no one reads it, I am excited, and that just might be the beginning of my Ikigai.
